Historic Roadway and Features

The Ridge Route has one of the best collections of early 20th century pavement and roadway features. Sections of original white centerline striping from the 1920’s, experimental asphalt, curbing, superelevated curves, early attempts to straighten the road, and even tire tracks can be seen.
